July 28, 2020 News
Dear 2020 AAEOY awardees, speakers, sponsors, and supporters,
With the continue spread of COVID-19 throughout Santa Clara county, it is unlikely that our AAEOY team can start the tasks needed for a large in-person award ceremony and conference gathering within the next few months in California. After careful consideration, we have decided to postpone 2020 AAEOY until next May 2021. We will continue to closely monitor the guidelines from the Silicon Valley Bay Area public health officials and stay ready to start the 2020-2021 AAEOY preparation.
Meanwhile, we would like to stay engaged with our AAEOY community. CIE/USA DFW chapter will host a 2-day online Symposium (Aug. 8-9, 2020), including: Technical Seminars, Leadership and Career Development discussions, as well as an invitation-only Executive Forum specifically designed for past and current AAEOY awardees and supporting companies. This 2-hour online forum will feature our prominent 2019 AAEOY awardees and many senior executives from public companies... don’t miss out! Please see Eventbrite for the details.

Dear 2020 AAEOY awardees, speakers, sponsors and supporters, by working with Santa Clara Convention Center and Hyatt Regency Santa Clara, we have put down November 6-7 as the new dates for the 2020 AAEOY. However, with many uncertainties and the convention center being used as a field hospital currently, we will assess these dates again in the middle of May and June.
March 5, 2020 Announcement
Dear 2020 AAEOY awardees, speakers, sponsors and supporters, today (3/5/2020) the Santa Clara County Public Health Department issued new guidance for Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19), calling for minimizing or canceling large in-person meetings and conferences, and postponing or canceling mass gatherings and large community events. The AAEOY national committee had a meeting tonight and voted to postpone the 2020 AAEOY to a later date this year, possibly in fall, pending on the next phase of planning work in the coming weeks. We will have our team member contact you individually regarding the plan.
Founded in 2002, AAEOY Award and Conference is an annual event on a national platform to recognize and honor outstanding Asian American professionals in Science and Engineering for their technical achievements, leadership, and public services. Hundreds of Asian-American professionals from leading US corporations, prestigious research institutions, as well as US Armed Forces have been selected as the recipients of this prestigious award. In addition, "Distinguished Awards" were also presented to honor and celebrate the achievements of Asian Americans with global statures and influences. Past Distinguished Awardees included Nobel Laureates, scholars, academia leaders, key corporate executives, and astronauts.
