
The organizing committee of the 2026 Asian American Executive of the Year (AAEOY) Award and Conference is pleased to announce that Dr. Liu Ren, will receive the Executive of the Year Award at the 2026 AAEOY for his visionary leadership in industrial AI research for mobility and manufacturing driving award-winning innovations into new products and services with transformative business impact.
Dr. Liu Ren is the Vice President and Chief Scientist for AI at the Bosch Center for Artificial Intelligence (BCAI), based at Bosch Research North America’s Silicon Valley location. He leads Bosch Research’s largest global strategic project portfolio, which focuses on core AI for Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems (ADAS). Dr. Ren also co-leads Bosch’s cross-divisional automated driving team, uniting experts from Bosch Research and the ADAS Product Division worldwide to accelerate the AI-driven transformation of Bosch’s next-generation products.
As Chief Scientist on the Bosch Research AI Board, Dr. Ren’s leadership has been instrumental in bridging the gap between foundational research and commercial application. He has guided global research teams to develop core AI innovations that solve key challenges in Bosch’s industrial domains, including automated driving, smart manufacturing, car infotainment, and consumer appliances. He has led the team to deliver a transformative business impact for Bosch and earn several prestigious industry awards, both within and outside the company.
Dr. Ren has significantly advanced the academic landscape with over 70 publications in top-tier AI and computer science venues, a body of work recognized with several best paper and honorable mention awards. His contributions are further strengthened by an extensive portfolio of over 70 Bosch patents.
Dr. Ren holds M.Sc. (2004) and Ph.D. (2006) degrees in Computer Science from Carnegie Mellon University. He also earned a B.Sc. in Computer Science from Zhejiang University, China, where he was a member of the “mixed class,” an elite college program.
